Show, Not Tell
So what did you think of throwing the recycle bin across the room? Shocking, yes, but useful? I'm not so sure. Worth the extra clean-up? Possibly not. Let me know.

I thought that the recycle bin occurrence was very unique. Definitely adds a variable of surprise to the class. An act like the recycle bin technique makes me want to keep my eyes open and listen to every word that you say during class. Makes me think to myself, "What insane stunt will Mr. Welch pull off tomorrow in Period 3?"
It wasn't something I was expecting, and It startled me because I was writing.
